Airplane Mode Live At Sandbar

The origins of Airplane Möde began with Carlos and Fernando, two lifelong friends who wanted to take their musical talents to the next level. They reached out to their good friend and past musical comrade, Blanca (Snow), who then brought along coworkers and musicians, Chris and Liz. Interestingly enough, they are all aviation professionals, so the chemistry between the five of them was immediate. These individual backgrounds, coming together with a shared passion for music, opened up the runway for Airplane Möde to become airborne. Their goal, to bring the best of their music influences to life for audiences everywhere.

Snow - Airplane Mode

Blanca “Snow” - Lead Vocals

As the voice of Airplane Möde, “Snow” delivers both male and female-lead songs with striking effect. Her on-stage, rock anthem attitude seamlessly contrasts with her humble off-stage approachability.  Snow’s passion for music began at a young age in which she demonstrated guitar, piano, and most notable, vocal abilities. Her music style stems from 80’s hair metal, 90’s grunge, classic, and hard rock influences. Snow is an aeronautical professional with over 20 years of aviation experience who welcomes you aboard to enjoy a high altitude performance.

Fernando - Airplane Mode

Fernando “Fer” - Drums
Fernando comes from a family of aviators and is the son of a decorated Colombian Air Force veteran. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as Fernando pursued his pilot career and proudly holds over 3K flying hours under his belt as well. After moving to the US, he started his own aircraft parts company, but his aptitude in aviation is only shy to his talents as a musician. His clockwork timing and pristine technique on the drums are the backbone of Airplane Möde. Along with his percussion flair, Fernando strives for perfection in performance. His second role is essentially keeping the rest of the band in check, as nothing escapes his sense of rhythm. This is why his bandmates nicknamed him “The Captain”.

Carlos - Airplane Mode

Carlos - Lead Guitar
Carlos is a seasoned aviation professional with a 25-year career that has taken him around the globe. However, his true passion lies in music, and he has never left his guitar behind. In the 90s, Carlos immersed himself in the Colombian Rock/Metal scene, performing at iconic festivals like "Rock al Parque". While initially a solid rhythm guitarist, his love for progressive and instrumental artists sparked a fascination with lead guitar playing. Today, Carlos's musical journey continues as he experiments with new sounds, combining the crunch of 80s heavy metal with hints of classic rock tones. The result is a versatile and unique sound that showcases his immense talent and passion for music.

Liz - Airplane Mode

Liz - Bass
Music has always been a part of Liz's life. From playing clarinet in school concert and marching bands to picking away at string instruments like guitar and bass guitar with friends. She originally picked up the bass to participate in a talent show and immediately fell in love with it. After that she never looked back, the bass became her thing.  After having been in a few bands throughout the years, she shifted her focus to shaping her career in the aviation industry. Still, when the opportunity to join Airplane Möde and play on stages again presented itself, she jumped on it. The core of Liz’s early influences are punk rock and ska music, but as time passed, her playing style expanded to include a wider range of genres, making her the right fit as Airplane Möde's bassist.

Chris - Airplane Mode

Chris “The Relentless” - Guitar, Back-up Vocals

Chris’s love for all types of music and aviation shine through as a member of Airplane Möde. Inspired by his grandfather who was a guitarist and an accomplished recording artist, he started playing guitar when he was thirteen. Sharpening his skills through his love of old and new punk music, he began playing with multiple cover and original bands. Some time later after establishing himself in the aviation Industry, he felt it was time to return to music. Today as a member of Airplane Möde, he has risen to the challenge and stepped out of his comfort zone playing a wide variety of rock genres.
